This is a delicious and simple, colorful treat for a mid-afternoon high-tea or a late night dessert. When I was preparing the petit fours for this photo shoot, a friend kept eating them almost as fast as I could put them on the tray. They’re irresistible, unless you have a nut allergy.
- 1/2 c honey
- 1/2 c butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 t cardamom
- 4 c almond flour
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/2 t baking soda
- fruit jams and mint honey
Method:
Beat together butter and honey, add the egg and beat well. Add the almond flour. Add in the salt and baking soda and mix. Pour into greased rectangle dish and bake 15-20 minutes in 300 degree oven.
Remove from oven and let cool. Cut into small squares and top with apricot sun jam, cherry compote and honey-mint sauce. Serve as petit fours after a special dinner.
ROTFL! I got a bit confused there thinking that you were using wakame on your sweet petit fours (and thinking that I had another reason to be confused about Canadians) when I noticed the honey mint sauce note. Cheers for a delicious post and a good laugh all in one 🙂
