Well I’ve been feeling a bit bad about not posting many recipes lately, so I just wanted to share this one. Recently we’ve started adding juices to our kefir–yum! Very easy fresh and full of friendly enzymes, probiotics and vitamins.
- 3 apples
- 3 medium carrots
- 1-2 inch piece of ginger
- 1 c of freshly made kefir
Method:
Be sure your apples and carrots are local and organic, if not you shouldn’t use carrots and you should peel your apples. This juice can be made with all kinds of variety of fruits and vegetables. We just quite like this one at the moment.
Juice your apples, carrots and ginger, strain your kefir and stir them together. Add ice if you like and drink.
So you like this little tree? I got it in Chinatown celebrating the arrival of the year of the Rabbit. If anyone knows what it is please let me know!
This recipe is part of the Hearth and Soul bloghop.
Hey! I could have sworn I’ve been to this website before but after reading through some of the post I realized it’s new to me.
Anyhow, I’m definitely delighted I found it and I’ll be book-marking and checking back often!
Thanks–I’m making this! And the tree looks like my teenage son’s ficus Bonsai:-)
Oh cool! Yeah that does look right. I just love how the roots bulge out so much.
I ADORE kefir smoothies – I have never added ginger to one – I will try that next time! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Hearth and Soul Hop!
More and more I am having difficulty digesting milk, and milk products, maybe kefir would help that issue. Thanks for the suggestion.
This morning I made a grated ginger, organic carrot, apple, pineapple, fresh kale, homemade ginseng root juice smoothie. It was thick, green, and delicious.
