Britt’s Pickles (Lactofermented in Oak Barrels)

I stumbled across these amazing and addictive pickles while passing through Pikes Place Market in Seattle. It was perfect timing as I had just eated a rather cheap steak and egg breakfast and was needing some help digesting it. The Britt's Pickles stand offers free samples of all of their pickles as ...

Chocolate-Coconut Comfort Tea

Chocolate-Coconut Comfort Tea

I got my delivery of Cocos-Pure over the weekend and was feeling like a cup of something sweet and comforting. The Chocolate Mint Rooibos Tega tea is my favorite after-dinner tea, the idea of combining two of my favorite BC based beverages seemed inspired. Some of you may agree -- plus it is sim ...

Holy Creamline Baby!

Check out that amazingly fat creamline on local milk from our community dairy. With all the rain we have had this year the grass is growing fast and luscious and our cows are just lovin' it. Local // Global #Occupy Truffles

I had a special request to write this recipe down right away so I don't forget it. Fresh Noodles at Sha Lin

Fresh Noodles at Sha Lin

I was given a special treat this year for my birthday--lunch out at the Sha Lin Noodle House in Vancouver, BC. They don't take reservations so we crowded into the doorway to get out of the rain and hovered hungrily over the nearest table, the wait wasn't long and we were soon seated with a great vie ...

Burmese Dining in London

Burmese Dining in London

I was very excited to get a message from a friend in London who was taking her man out for his birthday dinner to Mandalay, which is a very good Burmese restaurant in London, one of the few Burmese restaurants outside of Myanmar in the world. There is also a very good one in San Francisco and a coup ...
